If you’re not quite ready yet for the Leaf AFi-II cameras, you can still enjoy all of Leaf’s renowned image quality and convenience by teaming a Leaf Aptus-II digital back to your medium or large format camera.
The Leaf Aptus-II series of digital backs offers professional photographers the speed, image quality and flexibility to push their work beyond expectations. The three models: Aptus-II 10, 7 and 6 all have the same size sensors and specs as their Leaf AFi-II counterparts. All the backs offer uncompromising film-like image quality that is superior to any capture device available in the industry, regardless of resolution.
With capture speeds as fast as 1 frame per second, you can keep pace with the rhythm of a shoot and the latest FireWire 800 technologies give the fastest image transfer speeds. The Leaf Aptus-II backs are engineered to compliment the latest Compact Flash (CF) card technology for the fastest Read/Write speeds.
A large, specially designed sensor with unsurpassed 12 f–stop dynamic range provides unmatched detail, richness and color, low noise, and striking highlights and a new brighter and higher contrast LCD touch-screen makes it easy to check your shots under all kinds of challenging lighting conditions, both indoors and out.
The Aptus-II backs are compatible with most medium and large format cameras including view cameras and you can use them with wide-angle optics and shift-and-tilt movements. Like the AFi-II camera, the Aptus-II back is open to third-party applications. You can view, manipulate and process Leaf RAW files with Adobe Photoshop CS3, Bridge and Photoshop Lightroom, Irident Digital Raw Developer, Silkypix and Bibble. Leaf RAW files are natively supported by Apple Mac OS X, allowing for full Leaf RAW support in Aperture, Finder thumbnails, Cover Flow, iPhoto as well as many other applications.
If you’re contemplating on upgrading to the superior image quality of larger format sensors, you have a choice between the AFi-II cameras or the Aptus-II backs. It may be a difficult decision to make, but whichever way you go, you can be satisfied in the knowledge that you’ve chosen the best of its kind.
