PocketWizard, the leading innovator of wireless triggering technology, has announced the ZoneController, a new addition to the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 wireless TTL triggering systems. The ZoneController offers wireless remote control of multiple flash set-ups. It can control up to three independent zones of lighting, giving the photographer freedom to adjust the flash output independantly whether working in E-TTL or manual mode.
Smaller than the MiniTT1, the ZoneController slides into the upper hot-shoe of a MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 radio, when mounted on a camera. Utilizing the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 ControlTL language, it communicates with a remote FlexTT5 connected to a flash.
Each remote FlexTT5 is independently controlled based on the zone (or group) A, B, or C that it has been set for. The three dials on the ZoneController independantly adjust the A-B-C zones and allow for 1/3 f-stop increments of flash output with a +/- 3 f-stop range (six stops total) when the flash is used in manual mode. When the flash is set for TTL-Auto flash, the ZoneController adjusts the relative light level of each zone independantly.
Three switches on the ZoneController allow the photographer to switch from manual control to TTL-Auto flash, or to completely turn off a zone. The ZoneController runs off on a minimal amount of power drawn from either the MiniTT1 or FlexTT5.
The ZoneController is compatible with studio flash systems, providing photographers wireless control to turn on or off up to three zones of lighting as required (studio flash units need to be connected to either a FlexTT5 or MultiMAX Transceiver for this capability). Future capabilities for studio flash are planned.
Combining the versatile features of the ZoneController with the extensive capabilities of the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5, PocketWizard offers photographers on-the-go or in the studio with the power of PocketWizard and the Freedom of Wireless Control.
