What better way to start the new year than by looking back at some of the most inspirational and captivating images from 2010? That's exactly what we did at Platform 11.1 two nights ago.

The Year in Pictures, as the event is aptly named, features the top three photos from everyone's collection - those that are close to your heart - and not just that, we also got to see the photos taken by photojournalists from Associated Press and Straits Times. Some heartwarming, some heartwrenching, some uplifting, some thought-provoking, but all beautifully taken with passion and creativity.

Inspiring the creative lifestyle is what Joby is all about, so we decided to do a little something with Joby at Platform 11.1. The Platform team, which includes Tay Kay Chin, Ernest Goh, Darren Soh and Leonard Goh, came up with a really cool and fun video showing you just what they did with their Joby in 2010 and we loved it! Can you spot the two new Joby products that were just launched at CES in Las Vegas? They are the Gorillamobile Ori & Gorillamobile Yogi for iPad! (Yup, that's them in the picture below, on the right!) Read more about these two products here.

Who would have thought that Joby Gorillapod could be used as a tool for hanging decorations? The Platform team did and showed it in their Joby video :)

Terms and conditions:

1. The contest is open to photographers in Singapore only.
2. You can use anything you like to make the pictures, as long as they include your wild imagination.
3. Participants are allowed to submit as many photographs as... they want to.
4. Your photographs should be resized to 1,200 pixels on the long side and saved as JPEG with medium compression.
5. Name your submissions as follows: firstname_lastname_001.jpg (e.g. john_doe_001.jpg or kokbeng_lim_001.jpg)
6. Email your pictures to platformsg@gmail.com with your full name and contact number.
7. Full-resolution, unedited photos will be required from the winners for verification.
8. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entries they deem unsuitable for the contest without notifying the photographer.
9. We do not condone the harming of animals or plants in your photographic expeditions.
10. By submitting, you are confirming that you are the legal copyright owner of the images.
11. And of course, the copyright of your images remains yours.
12. Contest closes at noon, Feb 20, 2011.
