Last month, the Rotolight was in action at the Gumball 3000 car rally! The rally is a $200 million international car rally featuring some of the most expensive cars on the planet, including the Bugatti Veyrons, Lamborghinis and Ferraris. The Rotolight was used to document the trip, for example, shooting the rallies, and conducting the driver interviews. It showed the versatility of the light in a variety of lighting conditions, as well as the resulting effect and the light output on the subject.
The Rotolight was also used in conjunction with the OWLE Bubo - a very innovative camera mount that adds a wide angle lens and stabilisation mount to an Apple iPhone 4, as well as the Canon 5D Mark II. "We’re now fully rested after an amazing 8 day Gumball experience (and 3 day return solo-ball!)
We got some amazing footage and stunning stills with the Rotolight and OWLE Kits -EVERYWHERE we went we had people sidling up to us asking what we were shooting on, their absolute amazement when we explained it was an iPhone ‘kit’ followed by the inevitable “How much and where can I get one” or “will you sell me yours”!!!
We also had a fair few of the celebs and participants trying them out and even managed to grab a couple of snaps of them doing so!
