What had begun as a Kickstarter Project in early 2011 by Justin Jensen - a mechanical engineer, photographer and filmmaker from Austin, Texas - quickly took off like wildfire once fellow filmmakers realized the value and potential of the CineSkates™.

Built by hand in Cinetics' garage in Austin, Texas, CineSkates is a set of three wheels that quickly attach to a tripod and enable fluid, rolling video in an ultra-portable package, thus the tagline "Put Your Cinematic Ideas in Motion". Developed at the MIT Media Lab using state-of-the-art skateboard technology, the CineSkates "pull off sophisticated-looking camera moves with the nudge of a finger", as Fast Company put it, and is a "Smooth-Flowin' Video Genius" in the words of Gizmodo, and best of all, they can be yours for "spare change compared with what you might pay for similar pro-level gear", says CNET. CineSkates opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities; besides mounting your camera on the CineSkates + Gorillapod FOCUS System (we call it the DSLR System), with the right tripod mount, you can also use this system with your GoPro HD Hero or HD Hero2 (GoPro System) and even your Apple iPhone 4 / 4S! |

No rocket science is involved, we assure you. But like most innovations, there is a learning curve, which is why we have a Quick Start Guide to get your CineSkates rolling. Download it now.

| How Much Weight Can CineSkates Hold? | |
|
CineSkates perform best with cameras less than 2.28kg (5 pounds). A DSLR, reasonably sized lens, and a mic generally work wonderfully.

| How Do You Shoot Time-Lapse With CineSkates? | |
|
|
The wheels have a ruler system marked around the perimeter, and a tic mark on the lower part of the bracket, which are put in place specifically to help you with time-lapse shots. Set your camera to shoot a photo at incremental times, and after every shot, move the wheel by one tic mark (or whatever distance you choose). You can put your lens cap in front of the wheel as a stopper to keep it from rolling during the shoot. |
CineSkates are now available in our stores as a standalone (wheels with case only), DSLR System or GoPro System!
