Manfrotto: an Italian brand born out of frustration with the lack of portable, lightweight photographic and lighting supports in the ‘60s. Back then, photo reporter Lino Manfrotto, who also engaged in industrial and advertising photography, was annoyed that there were no basic accessories like stands, booms and clamps to facilitate his work; the studio equipment were heavy and cumbersome. The helpless situation spurred him to create his first lamp stand.
