The focal length of the NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S is also 100 mm longer than the AF-S NIKKOR 500mm F/5.6E PF ED VR and 115 g lighter than the AF-S NIKKOR 500mm F/5.6E PF ED VR with FTZ.

NORMAL mode provides users with the results in optimal conditions, with VR performance equal to a 5.5-stops increase in shutter speed.

SPORT mode, however, is best suited for capturing unpredictable and fast-moving subjects, even during continuous shooting, because it provides a stable viewfinder image. The lightweight body perfectly complements SPORT mode when it comes to panning shots and tracking moving objects. You can also achieve a more powerful Synchro VR at up to 6.0-stops.

Everything about the NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S is designed with operability in mind. Whether it's the excellent dust & drip resistance, the ideal positioning of operational controls, or the fluorine coat for anti-fouling, every element is considered with ease of use in mind. To achieve superior dust & drip resistance, a sealing is placed on various moveable parts of the lens barrel, while a rubber gasket on the lens mount prevents anything from entering the lens. The Fluorine coat effectively repels dust or dirt, making it easier to remove if it adheres to the lens surface. Enabling you to always focus your attention on your subject, even in sudden weather changes.

The lens drive and other operational sounds are minimised to prevent them from being recorded, even when shooting in quiet situations. A "click-less" control ring has been adopted to prevent unnecessary operational sounds during video recording.
