Battlefield Ready
The Portkeys LH7C is a 7-inch monitor designed for content creators seeking a lightweight, rugged on-camera monitor that doesn’t compromise on advanced camera control for Sony, Canon, and Panasonic cameras. Extremely thin and weighing only 245g/8.6oz (without battery), the polycarbonate and ABS construction helps keep the weight low, fitting naturally into any rig without weighing down your setup. The 7.0″ FullHD touchscreen LCD offers 1,000 nits of brightness, making it daylight-viewable. The LH7C features four user-assignable function buttons, three 1/4 “-20 mounting points at the bottom/left/right sides with anti-twist grooves, and a full suite of professional monitoring tools powered by Portkeys’ MOVNORM OS.
7-Inch Full HD Touchscreen Display
The Portkeys LH7C has a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, a FullHD 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and a wide 178° viewing angle, assuring a clear, accurate, and usable viewing even in demanding shooting conditions. With 100% Rec.709 coverage and a 10-bit (8+2 FRC) panel, color reproduction remains precise and banding-free, ideal for critical monitoring. At the bottom of the monitor, you’ll find one 4K HDMI input and one FullHD HDMI output. The 4K HDMI input can take signals up to 4K DCI at 24p, 4K UHD at 30p, or FullHD 1080p at up to 60p. Lastly, the HDMI input of the LH7C supports 4K oversampling to 1080p, resulting in high definition, high detail 1080p video.
Wired camera control
Designed for modern workflows, the LH7C combines an HDMI video signal and wired camera control via a single cable using the TA03Y USB-C/HDMI adapter. This two-in-one solution simplifies cabling, reduces clutter, and improves reliability on set.To set up, simply connect the TA03Y cable to your camera’s HDMI and USB-C ports, then attach the other end to the monitor. Power the LH7C using either a Sony L-Series battery or an external DC input. Once powered and connected, the monitor will automatically recognize supported cameras. Within moments, you can adjust key camera settings such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, autofocus, and trigger recording directly from the LH7C touchscreen, with intuitive on-screen controls making configuration smooth and fast. The LH7C supports the operation of various Sony, Canon, and Panasonic cameras. It is compatible with well-known models, including the Sony FX3/FX30, the A7S III/A7 IV/A7V/A9 III mirrorless cameras; the Canon EOS R1, R5 Mark II, R6 Mark III; and Panasonic S1/S1R and S5II/S5IIX, to name a few.
Currently only available for Sony users, the Portkeys LH7C introduces a new autofocus feature: Focus Tracking Frame. This feature allows users to select and move the camera’s tracking frame box directly on the monitor’s touchscreen. Other brands will be supported in the near future via a free firmware update.
Powered by MOVNORM OS
The LH7C runs on MOVNORM OS, a fast and minimalist interface offering all the essential professional tools, including:
- Portkeys LOG Stops: The Log Stops feature uses the camera’s actual stop data. It automatically identifies the camera’s LOG signal and divides it into multiple exposure level zones.
- 3D LUT monitoring and 3D LUT HDMI output. You can load up to 20 custom LUTs via the USB port at the bottom of the monitor and the included USB key.
- ARRI False Color mode and user-defined mode. When you use the user-defined mode, you can freely set the IRE values.
- A new Peaking algorithm with a Peaking Frame feature so your camera’s UI can stay clear.
- Cropping feature to precisely zoom in on any part of the image.
- Framing guides, grids, aspects, and Auto image flip.
- Image Capture and Image Overlay. Image Capture takes a snapshot of the HDMI video input (combined with a LUT if desired) and saves it to the monitor’s memory. Then, you can set the transparency/opacity of the Image Overlay. This feature is helpful for shot matching (continuity) or a quick overview of the day’s shots.
- Anamorphic image de-squeeze with all standard ratios (1.33x, 1.5x, 2.0x) and the option to enter a custom aspect ratio from 0.25 to 4.0x.
- Stretch leg tool: when shooting vertically, you can stretch the bottom part of the image. The stretch leg tool feature can be sent to the HDMI output.
- Sharpness, chroma, brightness, backlight, tint, and color temperature adjustments.
Power Options for Long Shoots
With a low power consumption of only 8W, the Portkeys LH7C can be powered for hours via a single Sony L-Series battery. For example, with a standard NP-F970 battery (6600 mAh), you can expect runtimes of 7-8 hours on a full charge. When powered via a V-Mount or Gold Mount battery via the 7-24 V DC input, the monitor can run even longer to match the duration of full-day shoots, limited only by the capacity of the external battery. The LH7C is designed to adapt to all shooting configurations, from run-and-gun to cinema setups.Compact, bright, and powerful, the LH7C embodies Portkeys’ philosophy: to offer professional, intelligent, and accessible tools to today’s creators.
